【Introduction】
Our university established the Arts and Culture Center through the Ministry of Education's "Second Phase of the University Basic Education Enhancement Program—Dong Hwa University General Education Curriculum Plan for the 21st Century," and the establishment guidelines were formally approved in the 93rd academic year by the University Affairs Meeting.
The goals of the center are as follows:
(1) Integration and promotion of arts and cultural performance activities;
(2) Assistance in integrating and implementing arts and cultural curriculum groups;
(3) Integration of visiting (resident) artists and faculty;
(4) Community arts development and cultural revitalization.
The significance of the center’s establishment lies in promoting the core aesthetic values on campus, integrating multicultural aesthetic training and practice in the postmodern society. It aims to advance campus arts and cultural curriculum teaching and performance activities while extending its influence to the community beyond the campus.
The Arts and Culture Center focuses on managing and integrating the cultural and artistic aspects of the entire Dong Hwa campus and community. It hopes to create touching and memorable stories, providing a stage for young and aspiring performers. More importantly, it seeks to find resonance and emotional connections amidst the many voices. The center aims to provide a platform for cultivating humanistic spirit, integrating general education and professional courses through diverse arts and cultural activities. From both theoretical and practical perspectives, it enhances students' artistic and cultural knowledge, stimulates their creative potential, and not only serves as a vital foundation for cultivating the humanistic spirit of Dong Hwa University students but also as a center for nurturing students' future aesthetic competitiveness.

【Development Focus】
Art is created by people, and the artistic atmosphere on campus must rely on the joint efforts of the entire faculty and students. What makes art attractive is its core value, which is centered on "people"—whether it is the "people" creating the art, the "people" viewing the art, or the works created and viewed by "people." Therefore, the Arts and Culture Center takes "people" as its main starting point. In addition to inviting master artists or arts and culture teams to campus for performances and teaching, it also provides young artists with a platform to launch their dreams. Masters and newcomers together write the story that belongs to Dong Hwa University.
As the center for cultivating the core values of campus arts, humanities, and aesthetics, the Arts and Culture Center has four main development focuses:
(1) Planning high-quality artistic activities;
(2) Establishing a rich and diverse arts and cultural information platform;
(3) Creating a nurturing base for future artistic talents;
(4) Developing the university’s own artistic teams and activities.
